Juliet

Juliet is 54 years old and lives in the town of Gayaza in the Gayaza region of Uganda. She is married and has 3 children, with 1 of them currently in school. For the past 3 years, Juliet has been working hard to manage her bar, which sells alcohol. To help expand her business, Juliet has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more alcohol for sale, and will help Juliet to generate greater profits and will be able to improve standards of living. Juliet hopes that in the future she will be able to construct rental units.

Juliet is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like Juliet who do not have collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
