This group is made up of 18 women who share strong ties of solidarity and mutual help. They live in the same village and seized the opportunity to join the banc villageois when it was established in the village in November 2007. Their primary business is trade.
Khady, shown at far right raising her hand, represents the group. She is married and has four children, two of whom are boys. She sells shoes. She can draw on her experience in this business because she has been in it for several years.
With this new loan, she will buy shoes wholesale. She stocks up on supplies in the capital city and resells retail to her customer base.
Her earnings will go towards increasing her savings, reinvesting in her business and helping her children.
